Model T
My Grandfather is standing next to the
Model T that has changed as many times as its uses.
In 1924 My Great Great Grandfather purchased the original as a touring car similar to this one.
Primarily a family car but rumored that my Great Grandfather
supplemented his income by charging 2 dollars a day transporting workers 40
miles to Fitchburg factories.
In 1932 my Great Great Grandfather
purchased a tractor conversion kit from Sears and Roebuck and converted it to
this tractor. The picture below is the original vehicle being used as a tractor
on the family farm for over 12 years.
In 1944 it was retired to the woods of New Hampshire just like
many vehicles thought to be junk. It sat for over 20 years exposed and rusting
along with old farm equipment. In the late 60s after seeing people taking
similar machines and restoring them, My Grandfather and his brother Ernest
Hooked it up and pulled it out of the woods and did the same.
It took many years of flea markets, swap
meets and deep woods finds. Like the original Iron work found in the woods from
the pickup bed of this 1915 Model T.
With Great Ingenuity, Craftsmanship and Love for Model Ts They
Built what we have today. They used a combination of original parts, modern materials
and a hearty amount of judge disapproving whimsy to complete this Model T.
With its deep history of changes and looks of an animated movie character
this Model T has made many people recall stories of their vehicles.
Ernest with his Judge approved all original Model T Touring Car.
